Medical Grade Air Purifiers & Cleaners for Hong Kong Homes
Indoor air pollution is often worse than outdoor air pollution. A key fact to know is that it is also a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. The invisible indoor air is full of thousands of pollutants, especially the smallest viruses (particle size about PM0.1), including the coronavirus and mold, which are the most difficult to capture and kill, becoming the source of infectious diseases.
Larger pollutant particles such as dust, pollen, dust mites, and their feces, heavy metals, microplastics, and various carcinogens (greater than PM2.5), and other air floats, cause allergic symptoms and accumulate in the trachea and blood vessels after inhalation. Through your lungs, these particles affect your overall health.

Healthway Air Sanitizer Machines
HealthWay was established in the United States in 1981. It was jointly developed with the US military that year. It was originally designed as a military technology air sanitizer machine. So far, our air sanitizers have been widely used in offices, hospitals, clinics, homes, factories and public facilities. It is a class II medical-grade air purifier certified by the US FDA. We distribute the air purifier in Hong Kong, and more than 60 countries around the world.
An efficient air purifier with Patented HEPA Filtration System
Our air cleaners have a stylish appearance and are equipped with P1000-20600 Deluxe (for 1000 square feet) and P500-10600 Compact (for 500 square feet). Our air sanitizer machines have a patented sterilization filtration system technology DFS (Disinfecting Filtration System), which uses HEPA filter and plasma technology to kill and filter PM0.007 (7 nanometers) bacteria and viruses (the new form of coronavirus is PM0.06-0.14).
Harmful substances such as molds and fungi reach 99.99% and are classified as HEPA H14 high-efficiency air sanitizer machines. It offers sterilization that can operate non-stop, 24 hours a day. The P1000-20600 Deluxe model of our air sanitizer can purify up to 118 liters per second at high speed, which is equivalent to processing 250 cubic feet per minute (250 cfm) of air per minute (at 1,000 square feet). A space with a height of 10 feet can purify the air up to 36 times a day), but our air cleaners only emit 45dB (decibel) during operation, which is comparable to a quiet library.
Best Choice Air Cleaner for Truly Clean Air
The multi-layer filter design of our air purifier can capture and kill different sizes of suspended particles, organic compounds, odors, viruses, and other harmful substances in the air. Our air cleaners in Hong Kong can effectively inhibit bacteria from multiplying in the filter, adsorb volatile compounds, and generate plasma to reduce the smallest amount of air in the air. The virus is effectively dehydrated and killed by our air sanitizer. HealthWay Hong Kong Air Purifiers & Sanitizers – FAQ:
1. When choosing an air cleaner in Hong Kong, what should I pay attention to?
Filtering air speed: Generally, the standard unit is the number of cubic feet per minute (CADR) that can be processed per minute. The packaging of an air purifier should feature three CADR ratings: one for smoke, dust, and pollen. These three ratings represent small, medium, or large air particles respectively. HealthWay model P1000-20600 Deluxe air cleaner can filter up to 250 cubic feet of air per minute; model P500-10600 Compact air cleaner can process per minute Up to 150 cubic feet of air.
Effectively filter the size of pollutants: The smaller the particles in the air, the more difficult it is to capture. Many air cleaners or systems in Hong Kong can only filter dust larger than PM 2.5 in the air, and HealthWay’s patented DFS technology in its air sanitizer are proven effective through scientific research, killing 99.99% of virus particles as small as PM0.007 (7 nanometers).
Noise generated during operation: Generally, an air purifier machine uses a motor to drive air in and out to produce air convection, so it will also produce a certain amount of noise. The HealthWay air sanitizer uses a twin turbo fan and a sealed duct design. The air sanitizer produces a vacuum effect, and it only produces 46 dB (decibels) of sound when operating at high speed, which is comparable to the quiet environment of a library.
Operation time: Is the air cleaner system able to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year? Air purifiers in the Hong Kong market recommend only a 24-hour standby function or a timer system function, but when the air cleaner stops operating, bacteria and viruses will stick breeding on the filter, when the air purifier is restarted, it will pollute the air instead, and the gains outweigh the losses.
Scope of use: Because air pollution is invisible, when choosing an air sanitizer, it is necessary to know whether the air exchange speed of the air sanitizer can cover the site of use. It’s like a small air conditioner used in a space of 1,000 feet, and of course it will not achieve the effect of cooling.
2. What is the DFS patent in HealthWay’s air cleaner machines?
DFS (Disinfecting Filtration System) technology in our air sanitizer machine uses the plasma reaction generated by 16-18Kv high-voltage electricity to form a plasma field in a safe space and combine with the HEPA filter. When microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses pass through the plasma field, the cell nucleus is destroyed by dehydration. Our air cleaners completely kill and quickly capture fine particles bigger than or equal to 0.007 microns (7 nanometers), which maximizes the filtration efficiency of HEPA.
3. What is a HEPA filter found in air cleaner systems?
When choosing air cleaners in Hong Kong, note that the U.S. Department of Energy defines a filter that can block more than 99.7% of suspended particles with a size of 0.3 microns, which is qualitatively a HEPA filter. HEPA filters are also divided into H10 to H14 grades, the higher the grade, the higher the filtration efficiency, and effect of the air sanitizer machine.
The HEPA air filter was developed by the United States Atomic Energy Commission during World War II. The objective behind the invention was to remove radioactive particles that permeated nuclear testing establishments.
4. Can the HealthWay air sanitizers operate 24 hours a day?
HealthWay air cleaners uses industrial-grade, two-way turbofans and is certified by the US FDA as-class II medical device, which means the air cleaner can safely operate non-stop, providing clean air 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
5. Can the HealthWay air sanitizers remove peculiar smells such as smoke or pets?
The DFS system in our air cleaner can also treat volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as formaldehyde and benzene in the air. When -O and -OH undergo a series of reactions in the DFS system, the organic matter is finally degraded into CO2 and H2O, thereby obtaining efficient decomposition. Our air cleaner offers a closed air duct design, so that when air passes through this system to ensure 100% purification of the air passing through.
6. Do I need to close the windows in my home when operating the air purifier in Hong Kong?
To be effective in improving air quality within your home or workplace, the purpose of using an air purifier in Hong Kong is to isolate outdoor air pollution, so we recommend closing windows. If guests want indoor air to circulate better while operating their air cleaner in Hong Kong, the opening width of the windows can only be two to five centimetres. This gap would be sufficient for our air cleaners.
7. What are the different types of air purifiers available on the Hong Kong market?
There is a plethora of air purifiers that employ different filtration and purification techniques. Below are the most common types of air sanitizers available in Hong Kong:
Filter-based purifiers: This type of air purifier is used to remove pollutants of a certain size. However, Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other pollutant gases remain in the air. HEPA filters, also known as high-efficient particulate arrestance, are the most common filter-based air purifiers used by people in Hong Kong. Because of the air cleaner system’s ability to remove about 99.99% of particles from the air, HEPA air filters are used to curb the spread of airborne diseases.
Ionizer air purifier: These air sanitizers use ions that attach to the particles in the air. Once these ions attach, they allow the collection of particles. The working is similar to that of magnets. However, some models of these air sanitizers tend to release a small amount of ozone gas, which can, in turn, affect your respiratory system in the long run.
Activated carbon: It’s a centuries-old practice to use activated carbon to filter air owing to its molecular structure, which is capable of absorbing Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) very efficiently. Compared to HEPA air filters, activated carbon used in air cleaners is more capable of removing these tiny gaseous molecules. Given its efficiency, activated carbon is also used in water filtration systems.
Ultraviolet light: Air purifiers using ultraviolet light are used for ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI). This is an effective and efficient method utilised by air cleaner machines to purify indoor air and kill bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants. Also, such air purifiers are commonly used as medical-grade filters owing to their ability to kill viruses as small as 0.08 micrometers.
8. Can an air purifier capture and kill the novel coronavirus?
The dreaded coronavirus measures about 0.125 microns. However, its potency in traveling in the air is of foremost concern for people. It can travel in droplets through the air—when people talk, cough, or breathe. The droplets that carry the virus measure about 1 micron.
So, in such situations, an air purifier with HEPA filters can prove extremely effective in preventing the spread of the virus. Given the ability of these air cleaner’s filters to capture 99.99% of particles measuring 0.3 microns, their installation in domestic and medical establishments can reduce the level of virus particles floating in the air.
9. Should I set my air purifier at the highest speed?
There are certain air sanitizers in the market that are quite loud. Users should keep this consideration in mind before setting their air purifier to its highest speed setting. These air cleaners in Hong Kong certainly deliver the highest CADR, but not without creating some amount of noise.
So, you should avoid the highest speed setting of such air purifiers as much as possible, especially if there’s a sick person in your home, or if using such air cleaner systems in a medical setting. But HealthWay’s air sanitizer is a far cry from such units. These air sanitizers perform extremely well and remove particles from the air at both lower and higher speeds without creating any unpleasant noises.
10. How best to use the HealthWay air purifier in a medical setting?
To use HealthWay’s air purifier in a medical setting, you will have to know that the unit does its best to prevent the transmission of the infection. Here are a few general guidelines to maximise the efficiency of our air cleaners in Hong Kong:
1. You should place the HealthWay air sanitizer at least three feet away from the patient. You should have the unit placed close to the patient at low speed, rather than farther away.
2. Run the HealthWay air sanitizer round the clock on the highest speed setting because its noiseless technology won’t disturb the patient’s sleep. Most importantly, you should keep the air cleaner machine away from objects, such as furniture or curtains, which can obstruct the airflow. Also, make sure you keep the room’s door closed at all times while operating the air sanitizer, so that no air particles can exit from the patient’s room.
3. You should take proper precautions while handling the air purifier and changing the filter. Viruses can thrive on steel and plastic materials for up to three days. So, it’s best to wear a pair of gloves and a surgical mask and disinfect the exterior of the unit before handling the air cleaner filter system.
